INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT SANITIZER

After combining alcohol and gel for use by doctors in instances where they did not have time to acquire soap and warm water before treating patients, Lupe Hernandez, a nursing student in Bakersfield, California, was named the creator of hand sanitizer in 1966.

In 1988, the business developed the Purell hand gel, which has 70% ethyl alcohol and propylene glycol as its main ingredients. While Purell is currently the world's best-selling hand sanitizer, it took some time for stores to stock a product that most customers weren't looking for.

Sanitizer was approved by WHO(World Health Organization) in 2002.

Hand sanitizers are made up of 63 percent ethanol, which kills nearly all bacteria it comes into contact with.

Cryptosporidium and Norovirus are not successfully killed by alcohol-based hand sanitizers.

There is an expiration date on hand sanitizer. Sanitizer that has recently expired may still be effective, but it is likely to be less effective than a product that is still in date.

How to Make Hand Sanitizer at Home :

           1) a third of a cup of rubbing alcohol

           2) a third of a cup of aloe vera

           3) a few drops of essential oil (five to ten drops) (optional)

Children can get alcohol poisoning from even a modest amount of hand sanitizer. (However, if your children eat with or lick their hands after using hand sanitizer, you shouldn't be concerned.)
