Crabs are found all over the world and are eaten for their meat. There are over 6,000 species of crabs.


2)  The Japanese spider crab (Macrocheira kaempferi) is a type of marine crab found in Japan's oceans. It is the arthropod with the longest leg span.


3)  Crab is high in protein, which is essential for muscle growth and maintenance. Crab is abundant in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B12, and selenium, among other nutrients.


4)  Crabs can walk in any direction, although they prefer to walk and run in the same direction.


5)  Horseshoe crab fossils have been dated to be 445 million years old. They coevolved with other primitive arthropods called trilobites, a long-extinct close relative of the horseshoe crab, in the shallow oceans of the Paleozoic Era (540-248 million years ago).
